   This nail grinder is very nice. I feel it was misleading in the description though because it's not quiet. I have a dog that is afraid of grinders and I was hopeful this would work out but it's just like the others. If you need a grinder and don't have a dog that's afraid, I'd highly recommend this one. It's easy to hold and great quality and easy to use

   Love using this on my dogs nails. I felt like reg dog nail clippers weren't working well. I needed something to make them less sharp and this definitely helps as I can smooth and round out their nails.

   Wow! My dog has always squirmed away from clippers or files before this one. He didn't move at all during the entire process. The file was so good I never had to use on the higher level. His nails have never been so smooth! Groomers clip nails but they often felt ruff or cracked. I'm very happy to recommend this product.

   Love this product. We have a very large, very big baby that is afraid of loud noises. She hated the every nail grinder we tried and had to stop clipping due to cracking and brittle nails. Worked perfectly and she literally fell asleep the very first time we used this! Highly recommend!

   Start off using these and you will have no issues taking care of your pets. Use common sense and trim the pups fur around the toe beans first. It's a spinning device, don't be a dummy and get it tangled in the pups fur. I reccomend touching up any chips with a small glass file. Remember this will trim cat nails much faster than a dogs. Always stop well short of the quick!

   I have an older lab super touchy when it comes to cutting her nails. Those nail cutters are harsh and leave pieces of nail, so I started to use a nail file to take all the sharp edges off. To my surprise she allowed me to do this. So then I looked up options to cut dogs nails and found they had these nail trimmers. So I ordered I was super surprised how quiet they are they shave nails really well without splitting them and most important my dog actually lets me do it without a problem So yes I would def recommend these very pleased

   Love this product. I needed something that wouldn’t upset my foster dog who is pretty skittish. I couldn’t get him into an appointment to do his nails, so I ordered this dremel. It’s sturdy, quiet and easy to use. Did a wonderful job on his nails.

   This grinder is very easy to use. My bulldog is a bit of a sissy but I started on level 1 and worked up to the 6. He did fine. The light is great for seeing especially with black nails. I’ve only used it once so we will see how it holds up.

   This has exceeded my expectations. Keeps all 3 of our dogs nails safely short, smooth and with minimal training is much less stressful. Tossed the old conventional nail trimmer and this is our weekly go to. The light feature is super helpful with white nails and helps us see the bottom of the black nails quickly and easily so we don’t trim too short.

   Both my husband and I are extremely pleased with this purchase. We have 4 labs and this nail grinder is the perfect tool for our bunch. Minimal noise from this tough nail eating diamond blade with the led light for better close up view of the quick makes this a Best Buy for our fur babes. I believe they enjoyed the experience almost as much as we did. Super fast and easy to use. The different speed levels are a super plus. We used the # 4 speed out of 6 speeds.

   It’s soooo quiet and painless and even the most dramatic dog in our house will tolerate it. I was running out of ideas for getting his nails trimmed, but this has worked perfectly and we are slowly acclimating him to it. Get it, completely worth it.

   Cannot recommend this dremel enough! My dog would not let the groomer or vet trim her nails. The vet even prescribed an anti-anxiety and a sedative to give her before nail trims, and it didn’t help!! But she will let my partner and I use the dremel with no problem! (She has to be bribed with treats of course). This dremel has saved my dog, and myself, from so much stress.

   Works as expected. My dog still doesn't really like it but will tolerate it. We had a few "too short" cuts when using clippers so she now hates those. It is key to get the dog used to the device. I turned it on and off a bunch for a few days so she could check it out before using.

   I have used another brand of nail grinder for years. This one is 100x better. It has lots of power and is easy to use. My old grinder took approx 2 minutes a nail-this one is about 30 seconds a nail. The company emailed me to make sure I understood the product and provided support if I had any questions. Very happy with this purchase!

   My dog is a Pomeranian/corgi, she never has really done well with traditional nail clippers, and I honestly don't feel like MOST traditional clippers are not sharp enough to cut pain free. My dog has thick nails considering her size, they are the same thickness as my family's cattle dog. About 2 years I tried a grinder similar to this, except her nail went in a hole in order to grind. She hated it and it caused her to get really upset. Compared to now, a whole world of difference this grinder a million times better!! It is quiet, quick and her nail does not have to go into a hole.    The buzz from the grinder is minimal and my dogs were not bothered by it after a couple minutes introduction. The grinder has adjustable power and is wonderfully fast and efficient. Both my dogs had their nails trimmed smoothly in just a few minutes which greatly pleased both them and me. I followed up with enthusiastic compliments and a special treat for them, which will make their next nail trim even a more pleasant experience. My dogs do love their special treats and will remember, no problem there.

   I adoped a dog w/ black dew claws. It was hard for me to see how much to clip. This was better. I could use the tool by using little taps. Over a few days, he doesn't have a long due claw. I don't do about all dogs, but my guy didn't mine the little taps I gave him in the nail.

   My dog is a chug (Chihuahua mixed with a pug). He is incredibly spoiled and has been kicked out of so many groomers locally (like as in 4 days ago another one refused to charge us b/c he wouldn't even let them complete the nail trim). We ordered this and immediately when it came we used it. It is very efficient. The tip is perfect and gets the job done quickly with minimal fuss. It took under 5 minutes to complete the 2 front paws which were long since he won't let anyone touch them. Comes ready to use/charged. Light weight. Quiet sound. My dog didn't even make a peep when my husband did his nails. It is safe and we absolutely love it, especially for the price.

   It’s a good product in that it’s fairly quiet. It does a decent job of filing down my dog’s nails. The one improvement I would suggest is the application of the diamond particles that cover the rotating grind head be uniform. As it is now , it appears haphazard and sporadic on the grind wheel which directly impacts how quickly and evenly the nail is trimmed.

   Normally my sweet baby girl gets super spooked and pulls her legs away whenever we try to do anything with her nails. This nail grinder has been such a miracle and its the only thing that she will let near her nails. No more getting scared of nail day! Its super comfortable to hold while gently grinding the nail down, and it seems super durable. I highly recommend this for anyone that has a pet that gets anxious with nail clippers.    Much quieter than a dremel is the big plus. 20 lb yorkie type tolerates it pretty well. My dog has longer hair and our old trimmer, with no safety cap ran the risk of catching long ear hair. At first I was apprehensive about using the safety cap with the small hole for nails. But the led lights are such a help. The battery does seem to drain quickly and charge slowly. However it lasts to do all the nails with no problem. I've had it for 3 months and used it several times. Very comfortable in the hand as well. For the price I'm super happy with it. It has not been a wrestling match to do the nails with it being much quieter. And it is much safer with the safety cap. The diamond grinder is much more efficient than the sand paper type attachments. I would buy it again.

   Loved the quiet operation and balance of the cordless tool. I have a 60 lb standard poodle with large nails. She has not been crazy about having her nails clipped or ground. With the guard on the tool, I found it easy to isolate the toes and take a small amount off each nail through the small guard hole. It was fast and efficient. Less time means a happier dog willing to have a more frequent clip. I'll do the job more often and get her nails in really good shape with this tool. Wish I had bought it sooner,

   Works great, LOVE that it's rechargeable. I get two (or more) nail trimming sessions from one charge, and charging is easy. I recharge overnight as it does take a bit if the battery is low. There are 6 speeds, we usually use #3 for our 45 lb hound mix. Our dog doesn't seem to mind the sound or feel - as long as he's distracted enough with his lick pad! The opening on the guard was too small for our pup's nails, so my husband used a Dremmel to make it a little bigger and it's perfect (I am reluctant to take the guard completely off). It comes with a nice cover when not in use. The lights on it are somewhat helpful, but I use a headlamp to get light where I really need it anyway.

   our pup, Lucy got this from Santa....but like getting socks from Santa as a kid, she was less than impressed. We have used it once. The dremel is loud, this isn't. It seems to work well, but using only once, lets see how we like it going forward. I like the fact that we can charge it with USB and no batteries or battery pack.

   I purchased this product several months ago and in a recent move it got lost. I purchased another one because this product is amazing!! Basically I’ve got my money’s worth from the first use!! My dog doesn’t fight me, it’s easy to use, and no issues with the product at all. I do need to pull back my dog’s long ears and trim up fur around the nail before using or the fur can get caught in the process of trimming the nail. Luckily, I figured this out early, as my dog’s ear fur got caught during trimming. No injury happened and it didn’t not break the file. My dog still lets me use it. It has saved at least $40 a month from having the vet trim the nails.

   Tengo un perro Senior al que no le habíamos cortado las uñas, por lo que nunca se acostumbró al cortaúñas, con esta lima no ha habido ningún problema, mi perro no tiene ningún problema cuando le limo las uñas.    This is the second nail grinder I have purchased. I thought I liked my first one (different brand) but this one is so much better! I have a medium sized dog with black nails so I get nervous clipping her nails too much. This is perfect for not only cleaning up any sharp edges but it does a great job grinding the nail down so I can finally get them to a good length. Light weight and quiet, yet powerful.

   This is the first nail my shepherd/lab mix actually enjoys! The noise is minimal and is not frightening to my doggie. It gets the job done and I’m not worried about filing to close to far because of the removable file guard. So far this product is amazing and works better than expected!

   It works pretty well! Basically it’s nice to introduce it to your dog prior to doing anything so that it’s not such a big deal when you actually turn it on because it is so quiet. Definitely a good purchase. It’s too bad that it won’t grind faster, but it’s understandable that it’s a More gentle nail file. Definitely would recommend.

   My dog wouldn’t allow me to clip, trip or file his nails. They was so long and hurt us when he would play or jump on us for hugs. This product saved our legs and arms. Gave him a spoon of peanut butter and this product was so quiet he didn’t even know I was messing with his nails. Would definitely recommend to anyone whose dogs refuse to get their nails clipped.

   Most of my dogs’ nails are all black, which makes it incredibly difficult to locate the quick. This made cutting with clippers stressful for everyone involved… The grinder is so nice because it shaves down the nails slowly and in a controlled manner. As soon as I’m even close to the quick, they just signal to me with a tug of their paw. It definitely takes longer and is a bit messier than standard clippers, but 100% worth it if it means a pleasant experience for all of us! First review of a product I’ve written, and totally worth it!

   My dog will tolerate clipping nails but is too wiggly and I’m always afraid I’ll clip too close. This file has been amazing. She loves sitting there and I am happy with how well it works. I warmed her up to it by turning it on so she got used to the sound and the vibration she’s not at all skiddish or afraid of it. Amazing 👏

   I have had a nail trimmer years ago and was never truly satisfied with it. Two years ago I got a puppy and diligently took him to Pet Smart to get his nails- and they would use a grinder as well. Sometimes I was not as pleased; though it was good, some were able to get the nails cut down well. I would go every 5 - 6 weeks and pay $20. I was okay with it but it does add up. When my daughter told me she purchased this particular grinder to do here large dogs nails I was excited to purchase it. This is my second time using it and thrilled. It helps my dog has white nails. I consider the first time using it was spent on buying the grinder- now I am in the plus $20! AND no driving to take him or wait for him and in only 15 minutes my dog is off my lap and getting a treat from me!!

   I’ve tried weaker single speed electric nail trimmers. They bog down and are load and my dog was afraid of them. This item works great with the variable speed. Not very noisy and files tea well. I turned it on a couple of times so my dog could hear it. Then we used it. He was really calm. It’s effective as all get out. He doesn’t fight against it so it makes keeping his nails trimmed a breeze. Definitely worth the purchase price.

   It is a great Machine. But to be honest it is not for dogs or cats THAT ARE NOT PATIENT. It takes way way 2 long 2 do just 1 nail. But on myself or my mom who has Alzheimer's & has issues as do most people that are 75 & up have thick toe nails. I am a hairdresser so I know about these things & they work great on Ur nails or toes & are a blessing 2 have 4 my moms poor toes. SO ID SAY THERE A MUST HAVE IN UR HOME.

   If you had a six star rating I would have done that. This is a total game changer for drama queen dogs getting their nails done. My large size chihuahua has alway taken two people to hold him down for doing his nails. With this grinder there is no drama. He lays there totally calm for the first time ever in 11 years.    After reading and watching videos on how to go about grinding my pups nails down. Took it out the box and turned it on for a second just to get my pups reaction and see how loud the motor is. The motor isn't loud at all. And I saw there was no look of concern on his face I was happy. I then proceeded to grind his nails down and found that it was very easy to do. Would recommend to a pet parent.

   We have used this product for about 6 months now and it has proven really useful. The light is helpful (especially for the dogs where it’s harder to see the quick) and it’s relatively quiet. It has great battery life and durability. Not too heavy either so it’s easy to use.

   Cutting Rosie’s nails with a standard nail trimmer has always involved a bit of a wrestling match, even with plenty of peanut butter distraction. I was dubious about whether our nervous dog would tolerate this grinder, but in fact she quickly figured out that it wasn’t going to hurt her, and didn’t struggle to fight it off. Quick, easy, precise, and minimally stressful: it works well!

   I can't recommend this enough! This is my first grinder. One of my pups has dark nails, and I was always worried about cutting her nails too short. With this I can slowly trim a little at a time. It has been a godsend for cutting my friends' dogs' nails also. I love how it's rechargeable - the battery lasts a good long time.

   Very quick and easy to trim nails, even in the harder black nails! There are two different speeds to help control how much trimming I want to remove. Battery has lasted about 30 minutes worth (4+ trimmings) without a recharge.

   I have multiple dogs and some required a muzzle and restraint to clip or use a dremel to do their nails. I've been able to do all of them with this grinder by myself with no muzzle or restraint. If you have a kennel of dogs and want to do more than 5 or 6 in a row you might want to buy two for battery life, but it's worth it! I cannot tell you how amazing it is to do nails with no drama. 100% recommend even for long nails. It takes them down quickly and makes it so easy. I'll do nails often and keep them nice now that it doesn't upset all of us. The metal head takes even long nails down quickly without excessive heat, and the light is extremely helpful.

   Very nice quality tool. I turned it on a few times to get my dog used it the sound. I even did one of my toes while he was watching , then did his 2 toenails. The next day I got to do 2 more. He hates anyone touching his toe nails. Very happy. Even the owner reach out.

   New puppy owner here and I bought this as my dad has one for his dog. I visited and told him how my puppy isn’t fond of the clippers and he introduced me to this grinder! Where I purchased one and let me tell you the difference for my pup. ALOT. Still hates having nails cut but she will sit there and let me grind away as needed rather than the constant pulling of her paws with each clip w/clippers. She was wary at first but I put it on and let her smell and observe it and she was good. Always try to ease my dogs into things they hate or are scared of and this was easy. A good purchase for your pups. Love also how small and compact it is. Came charged as well!

   Works well and is easy to use. Feels very well built and does a great job of getting a smooth trim on my dogs nails. I am able to get very nice rounded edges quickly and easily as opposed to trimming and rounding with regular dog nail clippers which take forever to do.

   Our dog hates his nails trimmed with clippers. With this he still hates it but we have had 110% more luck getting it done though it is still almost impossible. What makes these great is it isn't too loud and as long as you can press it on their nail it works fast at grinding it down before he can pull away (most of the time).

   If you can get your dog used to letting you trim their nails with this tool, it works great. It is super quiet and does not take off a lot of their nail, so you don't have to worry about taking off too much nail at one time and hitting the quick.

   My rescue dog hated having his paws touched. Vet had to sedate him to trim his nails. I bought this grinder, discovered that distracting him with frozen peanut butter worked and I could trim his nails nicely with the grinder. Now that he’s used to it I can easily trim his nails. The grinder is quiet and does a neat, fast job! No more stressful trips to the vet. Life saver!

   I was skeptical about using this product on my 17-year-old fur baby. I usually take him to the vet to get his nails trimmed. This product is so quiet and did not scare him at all. I needed my husband to hold him so I could see his nails good (nails are black). Worked like a dream. Be aware though....USE OUTSIDE! We made the mistake of using it inside the first time. Toenail dust all over us :)

   My doggo is older now and really gets the wiggles lately when I try to clip her nails, I got worried about her getting hurt. So I finally snagged one of these and lemme tell you, game changer. She sits in her chair and I file her nails with a lot more ease and no fear for her or me. It’s much easier to do routine nail maintenance! Be sure to read the instructions and have plenty of treats!

   I’ve always been skittish to cut my dog’s nails - worried I would hurt them. We tried one with an attachment for the dremel, but it was loud and bulky. The dog wouldn’t go anywhere near it. This one was surprisingly quiet. Our 130lb golden Pyrenees laid quietly (with occasional treats of course) and didn’t flinch or move. The flashlight on the end helps with shadows when you lean over. I don’t know about longevity, but first use out of the box totally worth it.

   I got this trimmer because my dog’s nails grow fast and I was having to take her in monthly for trims. We have vinyl floors and our 45 lbs dog slips and slides when the nails get too long. I was surprised how well she reacted to the trimmer. My husband petted her while I trimmed. In between we gave her small carrots. We are starting slow as she has dark nails. 1 time use has already paid for itself!!!

   I bought this for our newly adopted nine month old puppy. My experience from my last dog who passed many years ago, I dreaded the nail trimming process. I used manual clippers and I also tried electric powered devices. Manuel nail clippers were not an option as I was/am concerned about cutting to short and was also concerned that the power devices were too loud. The process was not fun. I received my Silent Groom Pro Dog Nail Grinder today and was amazed how quiet it is even on the highest setting. I followed the instructions by having the device close to my puppy, turning it on and off while giving him treats the first nail he was hesitant, but after that, it was a breeze. You never know what you’re gonna get when you buy online. This product certainly deserves the highest rating.

   My 13 year old lab has hated getting her nails trimmed whether at the vet or when I did it. Come to find out it looks like the noise of the trimmer was contributing to her dislike. These clippers are extremely quiet and her first trim went fantastic. We used the trimmers without the guards for her size nails, which worked great. Highly recommended.

   I tryied using traditional clippers for my dog and learned that wasn’t a possibility from past experiences with that thing apparently, since I’ve had this quiet grinder its been a welcomed transitioning experience. Seems my dog really enjoy the results of safe and long over due clip. It works amazingly, safe, quiet and easy to handle. The most comfortable she has been getting her nails clipped! Zero issues!

   Bought May 5 2023, the nail grinder I bought stopped charging. Thought that the cable broke or the wall socket so i changed cables and moved to another outlet and still wouldn’t charge. To make sure it wasn’t charging without the light indicator i turned it on and it sounded how it does when it’s unplugged from the wall. I cannot grind my dogs nails without it as she’s been traumatized by petco’s grooming services and cannot handle normal nail cutters. I liked how quiet and quick it was and i’m sad that it has to be thrown out after a year of service.

   I recently decided I’m tired of paying for the groomer and the gas to get there, so I took a shot on this. The two speeds were perfect and I was able to finish all 4 paws without noticing any decline in battery life. The size isn’t too bulky and the noise wasn’t scary for my scaredy dog. With a few treats it made for the perfect experience and he got comfortable quick. I highly recommend but also be careful if you have a fur baby with a long haired coat!

   I think I traumatized my dog for life because I tried to use these for her first nail trim. I really think using manual clippers first and THEN adding these will be a win-win. The noise and the sensation of the grinder before they’ve ever had their first nail trim scares the bejeezus out if them. At least it did for my dog. She’s ok now but it took a long time.

   This nail grinder is very quiet. The light works very well to see where your dog’s quick is in small paws. It’s not particularly heavy or bulky like a dremmel so holding a wiggling dog while trimming their nails is safer. My older pup that has always been terrified of nail trims didn’t hesitate to give me her paws. My youngest pup still has a long way to go but this nail trimmer definitely has reduced his stress levels.

   I have tried many of these tools over the past six years and I’m very pleased to say that this is the best one I’ve ever used. The quality was amazing. The color was just as shown as well as the size Of the item. I’ve only used it about five times and have not had to charge to replace the batteries. And it was very easy and comforting to use on my American bully as he Usually does not like anything touching his nails. I highly recommend this product for anyone who struggles with keeping their dogs nails trimmed. Another aspect I love is the guard over the file, It only allows my dogs nail to go in so far, ensuring that it does not hit any Nerves in the nail!

   My expectations were low for the price, but I was really surprised at how well it worked! I didn’t think it would grind well because it was so quiet, but it did. Plus I assumed my dog would be afraid of it….but she was ok with it. I just prepared a lick mat with peanut butter to keep her busy and was able to do 3 paws- then it needed to be charged again . I was using it out of the box so hopefully once I give it a full charge it will work longer. Either way it’s totally worth it when it costs the same amount of money to have the groomer or vet do her nails only one time!

   Purchased this hoping it would make nail trims easier and was definitely not disappointed. Our chihuahua was a major screamer during nail trims, you would swear someone was killing him before the clippers even touched his toes 😖 used this on him for the first time coupled with some treats (he would ignore treats completely with normal cutters) and he was yawning in relaxation during the whole session🙏 I’ve never seen him so calm during a nail trim and I was able to get his nails down nice and short with no cut kwiks or traumatizing ear piercing screams 👏👏 would definitely recommend if you have a dog that normally hates nail cutting time! Battery lasted a long time (I had already used it a few times on the bigger dogs) before I had to recharge and the build is solid and easy to use/maneuver 👍

   My senior rescue Chiweenie came to me 4 years ago starving, half hairless, fearful, terrible teeth, long nails and not wanting his feet touched let alone nails cut. All resolved but nails. In rescue for years, do all dogs nails with great success. He accepts my cutting his nails, but very twitchy. Have a nail grinder he would not accept. This one a game changer! So whisper quiet you see he doesn’t even wake up or act concerned. Have eased into the use gradually. With my old one he would run and hide under the bed! Very pleased not to have scratches from his nails as after using clippers.

   I love this dremmel type nail trimmer! I bought an older version years ago & have been so impressed with it, I bought the new one, the older ones wheel was wearing out. My dogs both sit still for their trims & my girl falls asleep. They’re not bothered by the noise at all.

   Highly recommend this nail grinder. I have a boxer and it was a challenge to get him to sit still when using a different brand, which was a lot louder and caused more vibration. This nail grinder has no issue trimming his thick nails , and he is way more relaxed since it is much quieter.

   Our dog has been afraid of nail trimming all her life. Clippers scared her, the dremmel freaked her out. This trimmer works great for us! I started real slow getting her used to it, and now while not fond of it, she lets me do her nails without problems. Move the trimmer around from bottom to top and side to side and it will trim the nails slowly but surely. Battery life is good, charges fast! Would buy again, no more paying the vet $25 per nail trim and so much less stress. Just start slow!!

   I have a large and a medium sized rescues - great to have different speeds since the smaller of the two dogs doesn't tolerate the stronger setting and can get away with a lower setting. the large dog has very tough nails and having the higher setting is very helpful. I've been using this brand for 10 years and this is the best version so far with the multi-speed function.

   My pup is scared of a normal dog dremel to do nails, and is petrified of the clipping. I bought this even though I am a professional dog groomer and have all the tools. I just don’t have a need for the professional tools when my dog is petrified of them. I don’t know if it’s the cover on the dremel or what, but my dog tolerated this SO much better than the other tools. I was able to apply pressure and it not get hot, none of his hair got tangled in it, and they got his nails so short and round!! I’m pleasantly surprised.

   Our Golden Lab mix is afraid of everything, especially nail trims. Our other dogs well tolerated corded grinders that made noise. This one is afraid of wires and noise. I've been able to grind on her nails with just a minimum of fuss on her part, which is a really large accomplishment, saving stress and money spent to have the vet techs hold her down to clip her nails. Excellent product.

   My little 6 lb Yorker had her nails cut to the quick and caused her to bleed and was very painful. I decided to never put her through that again. She laid on her back and never flinched a bit and never tried to get me to stop. They’re amazing. SO EXTREMELY QUIET!! Great product!!

   So my dogs obviously hate getting their nails clipped. It’s been super hard, but to my surprise, my baby actually let me clip his nails with this. It does take a little while, and I did have to get him used to the sound, but eventually, I got the job done the battery life so it does kind of die quickly, but at the same time, my dog did take forever to let me finish his nails all in all great quality and definitely got the job done. I do recommend it for sure if your dog is not into clippers

   Love this nail grinder, very quiet. I like the speed settings, the only downfall is it doesn’t have an on/ off button, you have to turn the speed button to 0 to turn off. But over all it is the best on functionality and very good quality!

   My dog has been rejected by two groomers stating he would not stay still to get his nails done. This was never a problem when he was a puppy, but I fear he had a bad experience at a groomers about a year ago and now he is impossible to work with. I was so desperate I even called up his vet to ask her advice. She stated she could put him under anesthesia to get his nails. The whole process would cost $300. However, I went out on a limb and tried this dog nail grinder and it did not disappoint! My notoriously difficult dog did so well! The grinder goes slow enough that he barely notices we are doing it! Such a great product for dogs that are scared or just downright refuse to get their nails clipped. Highly recommend!

   I have 3 pitbulls, 1 of which is dead and has extra sensory overload. I was able to do all three dogs in one charge. They were calm and cool once they got used to the feeling. Would definitely recommend. I've tried others that only had 1 speed and they didn't do anything for me. This particular item is worth it in my opinion.

   This is amazing!! Love it!! I have a 90lb labrador retriever who hates having her nails clipped and this has been a lifesaver!! This works so much easier then the clippers. She will actually lay still while someone is petting her so I can file down her nails. The noise doesn't scare her very quiet.

   Ol boy never wants his nail trimmed. Only had it done a few times in the past. He wasn't sure of it at first but once he started clicking and crying when he walked and tried to run I knew it was time again. This made it easier to do! I'd recommend a mask and maybe safety glasses but it was so easy... the smell is horrible but worth it to make life easier for my old boy! Very happy with it

   I was amazed at how fast I could get a nail down to its proper length. Now, instead of it taking me 10 minutes per paw, it takes me about two or three. My dog weighs about 15 lbs. So far so good I’ll update if I have any issues.

   My dog doesn’t let anyone do his nails without growling or trying to bite. He’s a Chihuahua so he’s a little feisty at times. He actually let me do it. And his nail even got stuck one time and it didn’t hurt him! I stayed calm and removed it. Nail got stick bc it was way too long (he hadn’t had them done in about 2 months due to being busy and waiting on this to arrive) and husband petted him the entire time while I did his nails and he just laid back on the couch actually letting me do his nails! I will say: bc I had never done his nails before and if you’re in that position as well, I think it’s best to start on level 1 and slowly work your way up. Gives your animal time to adjust as well. The highest I went was setting 4. I slowly turned it up about every 5 mins just to ease into it more.    Came as described. It was fully charged which was great and I used it right out of the box. My dog is not the best with getting her nails done so the low setting worked great. A bit messy with the nail shavings but nothing crazy you can't clean up. Would recommend and the price was great too, no more pricey vet visits for her nails anymore.

   I'm shocked by how quiet this thing is. Dog still doesn't like it much but she's getting more used to it. Works fine on her nails, she's a 35 lb medium size Catahoula mix. The head is smaller than expected and took a bit to figure out which direction would work best for her. I really can't see this thing working for a larger heavier dog with big or thick nails. For example, I've seen plenty of bull dog breeds with very thick nails they would not fit in any of the slots this has for the nail. I had a large retired racing greyhound and this would not have worked for him either. 40lbs or under is a good fit.

   My dog hated getting his nails cut so much that after wrestling him for an hour and a half just to get one nail cut I had to take him to the vet where they drugged him up on two different meds and he still struggled plus it cost $60 each time to do it. I thought I would give this a try and I was actually able to cut all of his nails at home with minimal wrestling. I am confident that after more uses he will get very comfortable with the process and it should be a breeze. The item is as described in that it is very quiet and has minimal vibration. It was a good price and fast shipping too! 5 Stars!

   It could be a little faster but it gets the job done. We had been unable to cut our corgi’s nails in the past. We started doing one nail per day with him in the hammock and by the end of 2-4 weeks I could do them all in one go. He went from a screaming maniac to really not even wanting to lick the peanut butter the entire time and just patiently waiting for it to be over. This + hammock + lick mat with peanut butter does the trick. I run it on high with no guard, using the thumb on thumb method I saw on YouTube. The guard mainly serves to help prevent their fur from wrapping around the shaft. I do wish it was about 50% faster on each speed. Step up to a regular dremel for speed I suppose. Noise is tolerable but he did have to get used to that. Lasts many trims on a charge.

   I purchased this nail grinder because I have failed at using a Dremel and I had another nail grinder that I always had to replace the sand paper roll and batteries. None of them did the trick and always stressed my pets out. I also have a number of pairs of nail cutters and they also don't like it. I also had my vet trim their nails and they cried like they were getting tortured! So I HAD to try something else. I admit it does take time to get your pet used to it but they don't freak out as soon as I turn it on. It is super quiet, I love that it is rechargeable! So far it has been easy to take care of and clean out. I have used this on my pets (2 dogs, 1 cat). If you don't want to pay the price of getting your dogs nails trimmed, I totally recommend.

   We have a Golden Doodle and found other grinders were lacking in power, they would bog down and run out of battery too quickly. Have been very impressed with this grinder, has lots of power and the batter last more than a single paw. I have used this weekly for about a year now and still running great. Really like the adjustable speed, although I just crank it up to 6 every time. The top has a grinding wheel cover with a small and large opening depending on what you need. I have typically used the small opening for pointed nails then switch to the larger after get the point off the end. This makes quick work and can typically get two paws done before our dog taps out and needs a break. With the high speed and power it make quick work. Plan to buy this one again if this ever fails - we purchased 2 other brands before finding this one. Its a keeper

   The device itself is pretty impressive—feels very solidly constructed. I tried to slowly acclimate my kittens to it. They weren’t immediately put off by the noise, but once they figured out “the deal,” they wouldn’t come near it. Think I probably should have started with traditional clippers, which would make it easier to sneak up on them and get them used to having their nails trimmed, then graduate to this device.

   My dogs who are now 13 years old have always struggled with getting their nails trimmed. The 1 has been TERRIFIED since she was a young pup. She has black nails so its been a lot harder to cut hers. Now that they are older their nails are more brittle and they crazy and get very awkward. I could no longer just cut them. I bought this to try and honestly I wish I had the whole time! It took her about 3 times to warm up to it over a week of just doing a couple seconds at a time and finally today it was like nothing!    I’m literally in shock! I bought this cause it was cheap, thought what do I have to lose???? This thing is legit! Grinded my dogs nail right down! Fast to! It did create a lot of dust obviously so I only did one nail, I’m will do the rest outside tomorrow but wow! Came with a charger and an extra dremel tool. Super excited about this! Can get my dogs nail so much shorter than using clippers!

   It’s works well, I just have a puppy who refuses to let me use it on him. He lets the people at Petco do his nails and they always say how good he is but he’s never good like that when I try. But if he did let me do his nails, I can tell this would work cause it worked when I tried it on mine to make sure it wasn’t too much for him. Good choice

It would take 4 charges and 4 days to finish grinding my dogs nails. But, not this one!!! Was able to grind all 4 paws in 1 sitting. Took about 30 minutes from start to finish. Super safe and quiet. Strong and didn't lose one bit of charge. My dog was much happier, although he really loves his grooming sessions :) I was much happier, too, because it didn't take me all day!! Love that the owner of this product guarantees his product and he tells you so, personally!!!!

   So far this trimmer has been awesome! Our dog allows me to grind his nails without any issues. It is quiet and easy to use. Previously I would use a guillotine style clipper and after the first nail he would fight me on the rest. The first time I used it I only did his front paws then a couple days later did all four paws. I am only taking a little bit at a time as I learn how close I can get without hitting the quick. Excellent choice for us!

   I have been clipping my parrot and dog nails. All of their nails are very thick. I cannot believe, even my parrot does not mind the nail grinder. She used to threaten to bite me when I used the clippers and file. My Westies also have thick nails. They do not stress nearly as much. And, the good news is "no more blood". I love the light and the brace on the file. The noise level is very low. I use the grinder on a 3 and have no problem. This is a great nail grinder for pets. It is safe and very effective. l really believe that all of my pets had a really hard time with the pressure from the clipping. This grinder eliminates that completely. Great buy. Just hope that I can replace the grinder when that time comes, without having to re-purchase the entire machine. Wish I had done this years ago. Would have saved my pets a lot of stress. I would recommend this for all pet owners. If my parrot is ok with this I can imagine even a delicate cat would be as well.

   Still a noise my dog doesn't love. It takes quite a while to take enough nail off and you have to kind of bounce it so it doesn't get too hot. It does work if you are nervous about clipping..or your pet is.

   My dog would not let me get near her with nail clippers. I had to take her to the vet to get them clipped, but her anxiety got so bad we'd have to give her sedatives before those visits, which made me sad to do. Using this nail grinder has changed everything! My dog still doesn't love me touching her nails, but at least now there are no whimpers, no yelps, and much less anxiety between us both. The light really helps me see where her wick is and I've managed to get her nails to the perfect length.

   I would really recommend this for owners with medium to small sized dogs. It seems to work well on nails that aren’t so hard. It’s a great tool for beginners too, easy to use and efficient. Noise level is quiet, which is great especially if your dog is not used to it. The design is sleek and convenient, easy to hold while grinding. Overall I’m impressed with this grinder!!

   Like most dogs, our German Shephard does not like having her nails trimmed. We had a different grinder which she hated. Based on the positive reviews, we decided to give the Silent Groom Pro 6-Speed Dog Nail Grinder a try. The LED lights really let you see what you are doing. It is quiet and seems to have a lower vibration than our old grinder making nail trimming less stressful. You can choose from 6 speeds which should work on all types of dogs. We’ve used this grinder 4X and it still seems to be doing the job. But if the head gets dull, there is a replacement head available, which we will be ordering to have on hand. All in all, we have been very pleased with this product.

   I thought it would be as powerful as all the reviews say, but the truth is that it is not. I am a pet groomer and this is not nearly as powerful as a Dremel. For my personal dog it may be fine, although it may take longer than with other brands. But if you want it for professional use, I do not recommend it.

   I love this product! I like how there are different speeds, and that it is pretty quiet. It is super easy to use, and really nice quality. It grinds down my puppy's nails SO fast, which I appreciate cause I don't want to be fighting my dog all afternoon trying to trim her nails haha. I have a small dog, and once she was more used to it, it only takes a few mins to shave down her nails. They also include a backup tip insert (yay!), and it also has a battery life display. The only con I can think of is that it doesn't have a dust collector, but that doesn't really bother me. One thing that I was impressed with too was that the company sent an email about how to help your dog adjust to the tool! I found it super helpful. My doggo still isn't a fan of getting her nails trimmed, but she is a whole lot calmer with this quieter tool, and doesn't seem to mind it :). Overall, great product, so I totally recommend this!

   It's true that it's quieter and generally less frightening to dogs, at least as far as our two dogs are concerned. Trimming their nails still isn't exactly some sort of zen experience though, they still largely dislike it. So just curb your expectations a bit when buying this. The price is good and it works well, but it won't work absolute miracles. Still, my dogs are a nightmare to trim nails for, so I'll take any improvements I can get. This definitely provided that.

   With my dogs black nails, it was always a crapshoot using clippers, way too easy to accidentally get the quick, no matter how microcuts I made. My dog and I both got stressed with every clipping, so I thought to try this instead. I LOVE THIS Grinder SO MUCH. This is much much easier for us, and we got a great nail trim with the grinder guard and on #1 setting. I kept saying this is the absolute best thing ever, I am thrilled with it. I had some chicken nearby to help him be ok with the trimmer sound being on. The noise level is low already but this is a kinda freaked out dog from prior clipper trims. I did a nail, tossed some chicken, and then it was on - he laid down and was chilling, no issues with this tool. Win for the day!

   I've only tried using it twice on my female Cocker Spaniel and it smoothly ground down the nail, it is quite quiet and my dog didn't seem to mind, although she is generally calm anyway. I feel better using this grinder rather than my normal clipper because with the clipper I'm more concerned of cutting into the quick.

   Pups weren’t done with their shots so purchased some nail cutters and they didn’t like me using that on them. So, looked for alternatives and found this to help with their nails.    I had a wired nail grinder that stopped working. I have 2 large dogs with black nails. They are too difficult to cut with nail cutters and because of their size (100lbs+) groomers want too much to trim them. I was worried about getting a unit that runs on a battery. And when I turned it on the first time and it was so quiet, I got really worried. But I was impressed when it worked just as well as my wired unit. The best part was with one of my dogs it usually takes 2 or 3 of us to keep her calm and still. I gave it a try with her by myself and she let me trim her nails and no one had to comfort her or hold her in place. The lack of noise is a huge benefit when it came to her. This was a huge win. Another benefit was that I could go to where the dogs were at instead of bringing them to an outlet. I don’t know how long a battery charge will last or how long the grinding tip will last just yet so I can’t speak to that.

   I wanted to stop going to the groomers/vet to have my dog's nails trimmed and he doesn't do well with clipping them, so I thought I'd find a grinder. This isn't as silent as I would personally like and when the grinder is against my dog's nails I can definitely feel the vibration. This startled my dog his first go around and why I give 4 stars HOWEVER I would recommend this to anyone because this does the job well once my dog allowed me to use it on him. The vibrating and sound weren't bad for me to listen to just for my dog who wasn't used to it. Pro Tip: Use peanut butter as a distraction lol

   I don’t normally leave reviews, but I felt this one was necessary just as a reminder. The product is made very well! It is quiet, which I liked because it calmed my dogs anxiety. However, make sure this is right for your dog. All nails are different, and I believe this would work better for smaller, thinner nails. I tried to make it work, because like I said, it is very quiet, and well made, but I just don’t think it is the right tool for my specific dog.

So we learned how to do our own grooming. We have caused stress and injury to all of them using the squeeze style plier cutters.    I have a French Bulldog who goes from cute to CUJO within three seconds of seeing the puppy pedicure kit. It was basically not even doable for the first five years without a cone and two people. Then I realized for whatever reason if we went into our walk-in closet he was a little better. His nails get so long it’s embarrassing so I bought this thinking it’s worth a try. It took a couple times of intolerance, but now it’s a lot easier. It takes a while because he doesn’t sit still, but the more times I do it the less time it takes. I pull up an ottoman and we play beauty school for the front paws and after that if i put him in my lap he’s relaxed enough to do the back paws. BTW he’s the boss around here and it’s way out of control with this guy.

   this is a very good nail grinder, we used it about once a month and it only lasted less than a year and a half. It wouldn’t hold a charge when we would try to recharge it. It completely died. I would’ve hoped it would’ve lasted longer, but it was only 20 bucks so I Guess you get what you pay for. But it works really well

   Rescue dog (dachshund/chihuahua mix) despised having her black nails clipped and I was always under-clipping to avoid the invisible quick. Grinding seemed a better option but my own small grinder was too loud for the pup. This grinder is not silent but it’s much more quiet. I introduced her to it gradually with lots of treats, and now I can actually do her nails by myself, without another person to rub her belly the whole time. Charge lasts several sessions.

   This was a good value for the money! After about 2 and 1/2 years it stopped being able to hold a charge, but with its price point I’m not super upset. I’m going with a different brand this next time around for that reason but I’m happy with what I got out of it.

   This nail file works really well and the best part is that it's super quiet. We use it on our rabbits and our cat and they will all sit still to get their nails trimmed (they never did that with regular nail clippers). Plus grinding the nails makes it easy to get them the right length without making them too short. We've owned this for a couple months now and it's still going strong and doing a great job! Definitely reccommend this item for any pet owner

   I really like this tool. I’ve tried numerous dremels for my dogs nails. The slot that is open and the way it forces you to use the trimmer helps with getting a rounder edge. Barely can get passed a paw and a half before he’s jerking and licking to get away. Was able to get all 4 done pretty quickly and he didn’t seem to be bothered much at all. Only, small, complaint is the possible speed of filing down. Also could be why it was easier to finish the job as it didn’t scare him as much. Overall happy with the product. Would strongly recommend, especially for sensitive dogs who hate getting their nails done. 50lb beagle.

   Well after my frenchie decided to act like a little b%^* with her groomer, she no longer wants to see her unless she is medicated. I decided to buy this and get it done at home, so far she still hates it but with help from my husband and daughter she lets me fix her nails. Super quiet and it really doesnt take more than 10 minutes!

   I used this one time. It was already charged so I didn’t take notice on how to charge. It worked fine. I was going to clip my pups and do their nails tomorrow. I decided to charge and have it ready. It came with the cords to charge. It didn’t have a charge block. I have iPhones so that block worked. A very good product and no way to charge unless you are lucky and already have a charge block. I am very disappointed.

   My staffy and both of my cats hate having their nails trimmed. This trimmer is good for small and large pets! It is still hard to get them to sit still for nail grooming with this tool, and it is still a 2 person job for me and my boyfriend, but it is no longer impossible, which is a huge improvement! Just wish the charge lasted longer and that it was a little quieter.

   I've been a dog groomer for over ten years, and my trusty Dremel finally gave out on me (they also stopped making my model!). I am an avid all-things-pink lover, and was so excited to find a grinder that could match my equipment! I tried it out on my two dogs at home first, and was so pleasantly impressed with how quiet it was but still got the job done. It definitely is a much slower rotation in comparison to the real deal grinders so it will take me a bit longer to do nails, but you can't beat the price and how lightweight and quiet it is. It will definitely save my wrists some pain. I also love that it's rechargeable, and that it has the cap to protect the bit when not in use!

   This works perfectly! It’s quiet and easy to use. It grinds very quick, it’s definitely important to grind in short increments as the surface gets really hot to touch otherwise. It made doing my dogs nail much quicker and easier. Usually she gets annoyed of me doing her nails and starts getting restless but finally I’m able to get them all short enough quickly! Love that it is rechargeable instead of having to have batteries on hand. The build of it seems sturdy too.

   Nail trims are terrifying for my dog. I tried a nail file at home and she did great so I bought this. I’m shocked at how well she tolerates it. She doesn’t pull away or shake in fear. Although this takes longer than trimming them it works better and keeps my dog happy. I can also get them so much shorter and smoother with this than clippers. I haven’t used one of these before but it is much quieter than I expected. I wish I would have bought it sooner. (50lb herding breed for reference)

   My boxer mix HATESSSSS having her nails cut. It's always such a struggle and a fight so I thought I would give this a try and I'm so glad I did! It takes a lot longer and the smell of the nail dust is unpleasant but she laid there and let me do all of her nails with little to no protest. She also had her emotional support kitten by her side so that may have helped. ;)

   I tried it on one of my pup’s nail. It was quiet and my baby boy allowed me to trim one nail. The only downfall and by my own mistake; it does not have a light . There is another one, same brand, but has two LED lights. I returned this one and ordered the one with LED lights.

   This ail grinder does the job. It has a safety/protectant cover on it so it shows a little bit of the grinder. Two speeds which is nice and seeps very durable. I wish there were different grinders to put on as this one has a curve to it. I’d prefer a flat one.

   Works well for grinding down my dogs nails and the noise level isn't too loud that it startles my dog. HOWEVER, nail dust will fly everywhere and I mean everywhere... in your eyes, hair, mouth, clothes. I've noticed other grinders have a catch so that the dust doesn't fly everywhere. Wish I would've known that exists before.

   Initially, I thought it did not work. It Does work I have to put it on low mode and unfortunately, my dog can only tolerate 2 feet at a time and he does not like this thing. He is a nine month old Shih Tzu puppy. Now, granted, I’m new @ this maybe it’s me. But I’m learning. The noise level is low and that’s what I love. My dog does not like loud noises so if you’re looking for something with a low noise and something that does work and inexpensive, I would suggest this. Suggestion: If your dog doesn’t like it, do one or 2 feet at a time no more give him a break. Most people review the product and not Actually, show the results of the product. Unfortunately, I am one of them. My dog will not sit still I cannot show how it does work, but it does. good product.

   I was finally able to file down my two fue babies’ nails. The clipper is kid too scary for to handle and this electric blanket nail filer really did the trick. The only thing I’d improve is the grit on the nail file to make it file down a but faster. Maybe it’s easier with smaller dogs who have thinner nails. Overall, I’m pretty happy with it.

   I have always clipped my dog’s toenails and then used an Emory board to final file them smooth. I always had to fight with each foot and try not to clip them too close. My little girl in the video is not a fan of the nail clippers but she doesn’t really mind this tool, it’s actually extremely quiet. I absolutely love it. My other pooch has longer nails but I am chasing the quick back with this nail grinder. I highly recommend it. Battery life is great, I can do both pooches on one charge. I can’t speak for big dogs, mine are both 30 pounds or less. Don’t hesitate, it works great.

   After reading multiple reviews, I was excited to purchase this product. Our 18-week-old pup has long, beautiful nails that are razor-sharp and constantly dig, dive, poke, and prod into our skin, which we were completely fed up with. After considering various reviews, suggestions, and recommendations, we settled on these... but our pup simply wouldn't tolerate it! While he was okay with the device being near him, the moment we attempted to use it on his nails, he became extremely distressed. Despite several attempts, he yelped and whined, leading us to conclude that we'd have to stick with the traditional dog clippers instead of this new grinding technology. I suppose the old saying holds true: if it ain't broke... Overall, it's a great device, but unfortunately, we couldn't contribute another positive review recommending this nifty tool.

   My husband and I found this nail ginger extremely helpful for grinding down our dog nails. Our dog won't even let us go near him with clippers, but this grinder he has no problem with! Does a great job, but after 2 years we had to get a replacement because of wear and tear. We're not overly aggressive with it by any means, so we suspect it has to do with the fact it's an affordable device and therefore not meant to last forever. We wish we could get away with at least one more year out of it, but for the price, this is a really great nail grinder!

   Love this little drill. My dog is very skittish when it comes to her paws. She refuses to let us even get near them with clippers. So that unfortunately means she has longer than desirable nails. I ordered this drill because it’s quiet and powerful enough to get her nails down to a more manageable length. She doesn’t run away anymore. I got her used to it by sitting turned off next to her then turning it on so she could get used to the noise, then slowly using it on her nails giving her a few mins to get use to it. Now it’s as easy and pulling it out and getting them filed down without an issue! Love it!

   I have two dogs that are about 80lbs each and purchased this nail trimmer because it states it will work for bigger dogs. It does, for the most part. One of my dogs has dark, thick nails that grow fairly quickly and used the trimmer for the first time. She was ok with the sound (it's quieter than others I've tried) and didn't flinch after the first nail was done, so she was very comfortable with the sound and feel. But, I spent a total of an hour grinding her nails (she was in bad need of a nail trim) and still didn't get them as short as I would with a manual clipper. The 'holes' on the top also were smaller than expected for her nail size and made it harder to make sure her whole nail will be touched (I had to manuever the trimmer to different angles to make sure the tips were smooth and even). It's harder to hurt the dog (by grinding into the quick) but it's still possible, and causing pain will undo all the training above. If your dog has very long nails, it will take several grooming sessions to get them down to a good length. Give the dog at least one or two days off after each trimming, and be careful to never apply the grinder for more than a second. If you're careful and patient, nail trimming can be a pleasant experience for you and your dog!

   This product came as pictured. The blue is the color as pictured and the quality is great! Especially for the price. I would have expected it to be $50 plus for the quality it is. The only downfall I found was that the noise scared my dog. She hates how loud it is and it makes her jumpy, not that she would love getting this done either way, but I do think the noise makes it more difficult for her and I both. Something to keep in mind. I may try covering her ears with something next time to see if that helps, worth a shot if anyone else had this issue. I know some dogs are more sensitive and she’s for sure a baby when it comes to things. Great product otherwise!

   This doesn't work at all on my large dog with hard black nails. It would take hours to grind them down. It does work on my other dogs white nails, they are not as hard. Still takes awhile but gets the job done. It is very quiet, sound doesn't bother the dogs at all. **The seller contacted me and after explaining the issue I was having with the dogger with tough nails he sent me the upgraded model. It has more power and works on the hard nails. The sellywas super responsive and helpful. Again love how quiet these are. Definitely would recommend the upgraded model if you have a dog with hard as nails nails!

   Preface this by saying I have a mini schnauzer, Lincoln 5.5 and a doxie, Eli 4. Eli HATES his nails getting cut or trimmed in anyway. The other tolerates it. This grinder has been GREAT! It seems more professional and the indication shows low noise and applies to small/medium/large dogs. I thought that was what I need, but I chose to buy it at the department store in case I don't satisfied with the product quality. I regrated it immediately when I saw it. It was so light and the glossy plastic appeared just like a cheap toy. Besides, I didn't believe it applied to medium dogs cause the power was weak. Or maybe it works if takes more time. I changed my keywords to English for getting more choices, and Silent Groom Pro showed up. Many people have brought it and left high scores. The affordable price seemed worth trying. I registered an account quickly, became one of the brought in the past month's amount, and waited for delivery. The product's appearance was just the same as the picture, with good texture, and proper weight, seemed more like a tool but not a toy. It was fully charged so that I could use it immediately. I turned the power to speed 1 for trying, it was low noise indeed. After that, I hold Nobita to try again. He was nervous and I could tell from his face, but he could take it so he just turned his head to another side. Speed 1 works, his nail was quite shorter, and I turn to speed 3 so that I could finish it faster. Too lengthy nails might be the reason that the nail grinder became not as useful as the first nail I tried. It works again after I removed the wheel cover and use an eraser to clean the grinder wheel. I thought the next time would go well cause Nobita's nails had been trimmed. Overall, this is an extremely effective tool for nail trimming. Just be careful not to inhale the nail powder.

   I wish it spun the opposite direction. When holding it with my right hand it is spinning towards me which means it’s grinding against the grain of my cat’s nails and causes it to bump and chip away at the nail. I have to use it left handed which isn’t a huge issue but when you’re dealing with an anxious cat you want to be able to do things as efficient and quickly as possible which I just can’t quite do with my opposite hand. That’s why I rate it 4 stars. Other than that it lives up to its name. It’s quiet, quick, and the battery lasts so long that I’ve never noticed it running out (I charge it once every few uses or so). He actually lays in my lap while I grind his nails. Because I do not have to contort his paws to get the exact angle, he doesn't give me half the battle!! If I didn't see it with my own eyes, I am not sure I would believe that I can finally trim my dogs nails! He still shakes and quivers the entire time, but doesn't yelp, scream or pull back! I turn it on to speed three before approaching my dog's nails and just gently bevel back and forth and it quickly and efficiently remove the excess nail leaving a smooth edge. Save yourself the time of going through all the other manufacturers because I've already done it. If you have a very small dog, like mine who is a Maltese, this is a very good choice and the absolute best for my particular dog. I wish they had a prettier color other than orange or blue or battle ax green 🙄 but it is what it is and I ended up with emergency orange 🙄. Out of all of the grinding tools that I have tried this one is absolutely the best! The only thing that I don't like about it is that you have to turn it on before you get started and I would prefer that it have a push button that you could let go of or push as you're going along.

It is sooooo difficult and obnoxious to trim my boy’s nails, but I don’t have the option of a groomer nearby anymore. And when I did, it was a hit or miss because there are no appointments for nails. Only walk-ins. Decided to take matters into my own hands (gives a sneer, a sniff, and hikes my pants) and lemme tell ya, I’m glad I got this handy dandy tool.    I bought a previous nail grinder that smoothed out my dogs nails but never actually removed length. This nail grinder “Silent Groom Pro” works fast in grinding length off and directions are helpful, be sure to read and follow them as they are clear and accurate to the experience and use of the grinder. The only concern I’ve found is long hair which they warn about to be fair. Be sure to keep paws trimmed which you should anyways with long haired breeds and keep grinder away from any exposed hair as it can catch and wrap around the spinning head (I removed the guard so that’s on me) however it hasn’t caused physical harm when it’s caught my Aussie’s hair (my error not the grinder’s) and I’m impressed with the safety feature it has to shut off (big win for safety). It really works well, it grinds through my pups horrendously long nails and fast enough I can actually get the job done (cutting their nails has been nearly impossible because of aggression towards clippers and my hands in those instances). So long as you follow directions and grind for a few seconds each time it doesn’t heat up the nail. This grinder’s multiple speed adjustments quickly get through, take it slow the first time so you’re aware of it’s speed and impact on the nails as it grinds quickly. The sound is actually low and so far tolerable to both of my scaredy dogs. They cower at all grooming tools/devices but this grinder they tolerate and giving them bites of chicken or beef helps to train them into cooperating. It’s easy to hold because it isn’t bulky, I have lupus so comfort of use is important and this device I’m able to hold and get through two dogs back to back. I prefer this grinder to clipping because you have better control of how much you’re taking off, it doesn’t frighten my two like the clippers do nor does it cause pain bc of the control I have to not hit the Quick and I’m able to smooth out sharp corners saving my carpets. Lastly the battery last a long time but is easy enough to charge. The diamond blade does a much better job than any sanding disk I’ve tried before. Overall I recommend, any issue like hair catching has been my error but with everything built into it like the safety features, great instructions and warnings, and the company’s concern for the customers satisfaction… no brainer this is it!

   I have a 130lb German Shepherd and he had several bad experiences at the vet with getting his nails clipped. So I decided they're not mistreating my boy anymore! I'll do it myself. Now he's definitely a handful and it took awhile to get him to trust me not to hurt him when it came to his paws. He wouldn't let anyone touch his paws at all. So it took about a month of getting him to listen to the sound of it and giving him a treat every time we made a little progress. Please if you're going to do this start early with your furbaby because it can be so traumatizing for them! I still haven't taken the guard off because I know if I mess up one time he will not let me do it again. So it's working out and it's worth it to know someone isn't hurting him by cutting to short and making him bleed. The only downside to these are the battery starts to weaken before I'm finished.    We have had the toughest time trimming our dog’s nails with clippers. We didn’t have trouble doing it until the time the vet trimmed his nails and they caused him to bleed (he’s nine months). This definitely traumatized him and moving forward from that vet visit, he kept daggers, which caused problems for him and us! When we got this nail grinder in, we still struggled for some time! We really didn’t know if this would work but we eased it on him over some time! It only took some time because he grew a fear of us touching his paws in general. Now, we are working on getting his nails shorter over time (they got so long and you’re supposed to give a week at a time for the quick to go down). Be sure to go slow at first, and treat your dog a lot when starting out, to get them used to the noise and feel of the grinder. The light is helpful if grinding nails in the evening with inside light; ideally make sure you are in good light. Also, make sure that the fur on your dog's paws is trimmed. I have never had a problem with this grinder catching hair, but suppose it could happen. Just do some clipping as part of your nail routine -- plus it makes it easier to see the nail when the fur isn't growing over it. One final note is that this company is EXTREMELY responsive to inquiries, questions, and warranties of their product. I have been truly impressed with their customer care. Their prices are very reasonable, and you will pay for the grinder in what would have been 2-3 visits to the groomers to trim. In the end, I highly recommend this product.

   I have 2 dogs, a 3 year old, 100 pound Weimaraner and a 12 year old, 40 pound Shar Pei. The Shar Pei no longer tolerates going to the groomer to get a nail trim as she has aged into a senior.    This product works great on our pups. We have 3 large dogs and this gets the job done. If your dog needs a lot of trimming done and you are trying to get into a routine, I would suggest clipping first and then start using this. We are able to get through all 3 pups with a fully charged battery, although I do try to move fairly quickly. Our pups do not have an issue with the noise, but my sister got this and it did not work for her because of that. Her dog could not get over the noise. It really isn't bad, but if your dog is sensitive to that sort of thing, it may not work for you. There is definitely more piece of mind on using this grinder vs clipping.    I am in SHOCK at how much quieter this is than the "as seen on TV" one that I got and have been using for the last 5 years on my Golden Retriever!!!!! She cannot stand the other one! Her nails have gotten soooo long and I was told by a friend that THIS one was going to solve all of her anxieties about getting her nails trimmed. I was skeptical, so I held off. However, In July, we brought home a new angel....a Cavalier King Charles (the largest of the toy breed...but he is so teeny tiny). I kept giving both dogs training treats throughout the process and it was done before I knew it! My Golden is 11.5 yrs old and she is running around the 1st floor with MEGA ZOOMIES right now because her sweet, precious feet don't hurt anymore! Her nails were SO LONG and she hasn't let me trim them in forever. They had begun to curl under and she couldn't run anymore because she was in pain and I think she was smart enough to know one false quick turn while running would make her accidentally rip one of her toenails off. She's been so inactive because of it and it has broken my heart. So, once I realized the other junky grinder (which was supposed to be the "BEST EVER") was not a good took for our new puppy either, I decided to trust my friend and order this one. Best investment I could've made for my babies! I'm terrified to use clippers (I had a bad experience with accidentally cutting too far down and got the quik on our 1st Golden many years ago and have refused to use them ever since. I don't ever want to put any of our pets through that pain again. I also can't afford to constantly take them to the groomer/vet to get their nails trimmed. They grow so fast and it get REALLY EXPENSIVE when you add it up over just a couple of months! This nail grinder has taken my anxieties away from trimming my own dogs nails and that is HUGE! I'm tearing up watching them zip around with energy and I can tell that my Golden is no longer in pain..... The lab-mix's nails are a dream to grind down with this device while the coonhound's nails are a nightmare. The hound's nails are so thick that they don't fit well in either of the openings on the device and make it more difficult to use on her. This also means she has an unpleasant experience no matter how comfortable we make it for her. We do have a few ideas that may help if you're new to this. They're our own trial and error tips; we learned each one having never used something like this on their nails before. Keep in mind we're not professionals and this is not expert advice. We're providing tips on things that we have found to be helpful. Neither of our dogs is aggressive or has any behavioral issues, if your dog(s) have these issues you may want to consult a trainer or your veterinarian before purchasing this device. Here are things we've learned in the past few weeks while using the nail grinder: • Trim the fur/hair around and in between the dog's toes before you first use the device on them. You definitely don't want to get their fur or hair stuck in the grinder. • Go slow, use the slower setting to begin with, and offer plenty of treats. Even if your dog is fine with the device you still should keep treats handy so that your dog always associates the device with something good. • Pull all of YOUR hair back with a ponytail holder, barrettes, etc. After using the grinder a few times I leaned in to get a better look. At the same time a chunk of my bangs fell forward and of course got caught in the grinder. I'm glad it was my hair and not my dog's fur! My hair was pulled back into a bun but I didn't secure my bangs. Don't be me, be smarter than me! • We started out leaving the device uncovered, but turned off, on the coffee table, couch, and even the floor so they could get used to seeing and smelling it. Then we'd turn it on and just hold it or pass it to one another. We always ignored the dogs, making sure to look away from them specifically, so as to not acknowledge their reactions. At first they were obviously uncomfortable with it as they'd get up and leave the room. Eventually they began to ignore it. •Tip: don't try to leave it on something that can amplify the sound of the motor such as the coffee table. •Tip: If you have an electric toothbrush this is a great training tool before you ever buy a nail grinder. Brush your teeth as you walk through the house; ignore your dog, don't look in their direction, but make sure to watch out of the corner of your eye. If they don't show any reaction try sitting on the couch or floor while brushing. If they seem a little uncomfortable give them a treat & a pet/scratch for reassurance. If they walk away do this a few times a day keeping treats easily accessible. If they stay in the room toss them a treat, f they take a step closer give a treat, if they show any little sign of making progress give them a treat. Make brushing your teeth a positive experience for your dog. I bet you never thought you'd read that sentence...I never thought I write it so we're on the same page! • If you have more than one dog make sure that you use it on each dog when they're alone; at least at first. Make sure that your other dog(s) can't get in the room. If they freak out they may cause the next dog, who might otherwise remain calm, to also freak out when you try it on them. Alternatively if one of your dogs is fine with the device being used on them and you have another dog who is less than fine with the device being used try trimming the calm dog's nails first, in front of the nervous dog. Do this every time so that your nervous dog can see the calm dog's lack of reaction. If you have someone else in the house who can provide treats to both dogs, and especially provide treats and reassurance to a nervous dog, this would be the ideal situation. If not try to take at least one break per paw (I do it after the first 3 nails are done) to give treats to both pups and try to reassure your nervous dog...though at the least take a break before beginning the next paw to dole out treats and love. • Treats are big, I'm sure you've figured that out by now. Have treats handy, as in they're out of the packaging and (if needed) broken down into bite size pieces and in a spot where Spot can't get to them. If your dog is a fan of yogurt or peanut butter try smearing some on a plate and letting them go to town while you work. If you can't find a comfortable angle to work at, for you or Fido (you both need to be comfortable but it's most important that Fido is comfy), using this method try smearing the peanut butter on a wall or the side of something like the bathtub. I don't think it'll work the same with yogurt. •Tip: BEFORE doing this on a wall or other surface make sure that you test an inconspicuous area to make sure that the oils don't leave a permanent stain. I refuse to take any blame for a new and permanent, oil spot because you didn't think to test it first. • If your dog is tolerating the device but is obviously not happy/comfortable try doing one nail and stopping. Make sure that you give a treat immediately after you pull the device away. Always make it a happy experience. •Tip: We always begin AND end with a treat when trimming our dog's nails. We want both of them to see it as positive every time. Overall keep the experience as positive as you can and try not to get frustrated...easier said than done sometimes. We've been using the nail grinder for a few weeks now and one of our dogs has no issue with it, though he started out nervous. By the second week he had no problem with it. Our other dog still stands up and walks out when she sees it. We keep it on the coffee table at all times and all she has to do is notice it and she leaves. I can say that she has stopped shaking and peeing when we use it on her...that's the extent of her progress. If given the slightest opportunity during the process she will try to walk away. Distraction is key with her. I'm not sure that she'll ever be okay with it but I know that she'll get better at tolerating it. Again, we are not professionals in the dog grooming industry. The tips and tricks listed above are things we've learned from our own experience. If you are unsure about using this device at all please contact your veterinarian or a trainer. If you don't have a trainer that you currently trust please make sure that you get referrals from others.

I particularly liked hearing it was quieter and that there was no easy way for hair to get wrapped around the shaft, as I thought this might help with River’s fears. When it showed up, I was pleasantly surprised by how nicely it was packaged—and by how solid (for a plastic implement) it felt. I have small hands for a woman, and it felt comfortable and balanced, when I moved it around. It also came charged, so I was able to test it right away—another lovely “extra”. :) The noise was DEFINITELY softer than the Dremel. It’s less loud than my Sonicare toothbrush, actually—but it’s higher pitched than both, and I was a little concerned about how this would affect the dogs. Predictably, it sent River scuttling out of the room—even faster than the Dremel does. Nixie was a bit spooked by it, but she’s naturally suspicious of new things, and didn’t seem frightened, just cautious. I thought I’d try it on Nixie’s nails first, since she’s the easy one. I used it on low, as that’s the only speed either will tolerate on the Dremel, and the higher pitch of the high speed didn’t seem like a good idea. Well—she wasn’t keen on it...as I held her—but the real problem was that when you touch it to a nail, and the dog predictably jerks a little, the direction of the spin, plus the jerk, means the nail hits the side of the plastic cover with a loud, unpleasant noise, and that REALLY freaked Nixie out, causing her to refuse treats, and to jerk her paws from me as soon as I tried to hold one. I worked with her a bit, finding that it was a little better if I could manage to hold my finger over the plastic edge, so that her nail would hit my finger, not the plastic, and also trying to hold her nail steadier with my other hand—but it was awkward, and after not getting very far with her, I gave up, used the Dremel, and was able to quickly finish her nails. I did notice that the Silent Groom Pro did naturally create a rounded shape to the nail edge on the top of the nail, but it created a sharp edge UNDER the nail, which it required a bit of ingenuity to remove, by maneuvering the tool around. I can create the same shape with the Dremel, but a) there was a learning curve, as if you hit the nail with the Dremel at the wrong angle, it makes a dreadful sound and b) I have an art background, and am very comfortable and confident in refining shapes manually. I DEFINITELY think that the Silent Groom Pro eliminates the learning curve, forcing you to avoid the wrong angle simply because of where the openings in the plastic casing are, and how you have to hold it—and it does not require any special skills to shape the nail. (And the sharp edge on the bottom of the nail would be worn off quickly, through walking, if you didn’t feel confident about reshaping with the Silent Groom Pro.) Since River has bigger nails, I thought they might be easier to work with—I can hold them steady easier, and since I work on him while he lies on his back, rather than holding him in one arm, and using the tool with the other. Sadly—although I had no problems acclimating River to the tool when it was off (teaching him to “touch” it, in exchange for a treat), and even getting him to touch it while on, he was absolutely, in no uncertain terms, not happy about it touching his nails. There was no calm lying there while I touched his nails for a second or two, with his eyes on the cookie bowl next to him—instead, he was terrified—so much so, that he refused to even eat any treats, and after just doing a second or two on one nail, he was panting heavily, in great distress, and had to hug me, clinging to me fiercely. I worked with him for a while, and managed to to a bit more with his nails—and the tool performed nicely on them, never caught his hair in it at all (a HUGE blessing!), and ground his rather tough nails down quickly—but the higher pitched whine, and in particular, the louder noise it makes when grinding the nails was far too intense for him in a first session. I did work on Nixie’s nails again the next day—and managed to get almost all of them done, this time, managing to keep her nails fro striking the plastic a bit more, but like River, she really seems to strongly dislike either the sound of her nails against the grinder, or else the feel of the grinder on her nails. I wouldn’t say either dog was in pain—I was nowhere near the quick, and I never had the grinder on their nails for more than a second, possibly two seconds, at a time, so there shouldn’t have been an issue with heat—but they were both very reactive to the sound, the feel or the combination. My subjective feeling is that possibly it is going faster at low speed, than the low speed on the Dremel—and that may create a tickling vibration that is too intense for them—as neither will tolerate the high speed on the Dremel. Overall, I would say that this is an excellent tool. It IS quieter than very highly rated Pet Dremel, but it DOES make a higher pitched noise, when it turns, and if your pet doesn’t like high pitched noises, that is something to be aware of. It appears to be reasonably well made for such an inexpensive tool, and I love that it’s USB rechargeable, unlike my Dremel, where I lose half an outlet to the heavy charger. It’s easy for even small hands to hold, and it creates a smoother, rounder nail tip than the Dremel will, without any particular effort on the part of the person wielding it. If you have very large hands, it might or might not be as comfortable, but for small and medium hands, I think it would feel very natural. The charge seems to last a reasonable amount of time. I don’t know if it was fully charged when I got it or not—but I’ve done one short session on Nixie’s nails, one longer session (where I did both front paws—I rarely need to do back paws on either dog, ever), and one longer session on River’s much thicker, tougher nails—and it showed no signs of slowing down. (I was using low speed on all sessions—how well it would stand up to a bigger dog’s nails, I can’t say.) The grinding itself was acceptable. It didn’t seem better or worse than the Dremel—but I normally use a finer grit on the Dremel, preferring a smoother edge to the nails, over a quicker grind, so I’m not judging the grinding against, say, 60 grit. (And I don’t change out the bits on the Dremel that often—so I’m used to using a worn down grit.). I feel that for small dogs—under 15 pounds, this should be more than adequate. No idea how well it would stand up to larger, tougher nails! Where it could be improved: first—it would be GREAT if the plastic protector for it were coated in something that would eliminate the sharp crack of nail on plastic, when the nail hits it. I REALLY feel that this noise added to the trouble I had with both dogs. A rubber or silicone coating would be great. The other improvement is more a “nice to have”—and that’s the addition of a very bright LED somewhere around the tip, that can be changed out, when needed. I would pay more, to have this feature—as, particularly for dark nails, that extra light would make it easier to see where the quick is. I’m still not sure whether or not I will ultimately be able to use this on my dogs. I’m used to training slowly, and conditioning a frightened dog can take time. It took a year of training to get Nixie to allow me to scale her teeth—but I got there. And it took almost three years to get River to the point where he would let me touch the Dremel to his nails after they’d been clipped—sometimes. (We may have had a setback, after the session with this tool, unfortunately! :/). I *suspect* that I can get Nixie to accept this more calmly with a few months of training—if the reason she dislikes it is noise, not vibrations. If it’s vibrations, well, four years of training has failed to get her to accept the high speed on the Dremel—so I assume it would be the same here. River may or may not come to accept it within a year or so of conditioning—and it might very well be worth it, to eliminate the risk of his hair getting caught in it—but he also might be reacting to the vibrations—in which case, I’ll just wind up passing it on to someone else. No product is perfect for every dog—and the jury’s still out on whether or not this will work for mine...but the product itself has a LOT going for it, and for the low price, I’d definitely recommend trying it. :). (Just don’t force your dog—and if you REALLY want this—or any other method of nail grooming to work—keep in mind that it can take a year or more to condition them, if you have a really fearful dog! Patience, gentleness, and not forcing are the key to success! :))

   I wanted to wait a bit before I posted my review. I have 3 dogs, and I wanted to try it on all of them at least once. I have 2 small yorkie dogs and then a large pit bull. The two smaller dogs were pretty easy to manage, their nails fit in the slot pretty good, and they were not really freaked out by the noise of the grinder. It scared them at first, but they were good after that. My big pit was a bit different. He's never had his nails worked on before, I should say first of all. At first he got very freaked out, but that was mainly by the grinding feel, not anything to do with the device. His nails are huge, so didn't fit in there so much at first, but after a few minutes, they were fine. The noise was a bit loud for him, but other than that, the grinder did what it was supposed to do. Since it was his first time, I didn't want to spend a long amount of time on him, thought I would ease him into it. But the grinder seems to work well, and I hope it stands up to the test of time.
